Life is Rough

Why, hello there. I am really bored right now...it's 10:49 over here. I actually went a whole day without sleeping during the day on FOUR hours of sleep! It's amazing! Okay so here are some updates and fun facts about where I'm at: 1. It poured freaking rain today...like I'm talking CATS AND DOGS! It's July! Yeah, uh, somebody go ahead and send the clouds the stupid MEMO!!!
2 I think I'm going to die if I eat another piece of fish. 3. The beer here tastes like watered down puke. 4. Wow...only in Europe is liquor cheaper than bottled water. (Water, 1 euro. Beer, 40 cents. Dying a painful early death, priceless.) 5. Who picks the music here??? Like at the festa (party) I went to last night, there was this band called FINGERTIPS! What kind of name is that? Well, I suppose that American bands can't hold that against these Portuguese bands...they have weirdo names like Blink-182 or Green Day. It's all in a day's work I guess. 6. How is it that all the fat, ugly girls have hot, slim boyfriends? 7. The water is warmer when it's raining...anyone guess why? 8. I miss Skyler. A lot. 9. My mom is here safe, YAY! We partied today...hehe. NOt really, but okay. We had to wake up hella early to pick her up...that was tough, especially when I went to bed at 3:30. 10. All my clothes are getting messed up and old and icky...oh no! 11. I think I'm seriously gaining weight! These people only want to shove as much food down my throat as possible! What did I ever do to them????? 12. I miss Skyler. Even more now. 13. I only have twenty more days left here. 14. I finally have Harry Potter! I'm going to read HARRY POTTER! OMG! 15. Office Space is seriously so funny...I don't even have to watch the movie to sit here and laugh at all the stupid funny jokes...just like above...raise your hand (and make a comment) if you caught that...if you didn't --> HAHAHA!). 16. I feel sick...90% of the time...too much food? I think so! 17. Why don't they use fabric softener here? 18. I miss Skyler...send him to me in a nice brown paper package...tied up with string...that would become one of my favorite things. 19. Nobody emails me (except Skyler, thanks baby!) or leaves me comments on MySpace. AND FINALLY... 20. EVERYBODY HAS GONE BONKERS! Hehehehehehehehehehe....just kidding. Anyhoo...that's a little bit of what has been going on here. If you want to know more (which I doubt you will), please feel free to email me. If you're priveliged enough to have my email then more power to you, but if you're not, well then, ask Skyler for it. He is such a sweetie, I'm sure he'll share. Have a nice time over there is Sunny California! I definately miss it there. See y'all! *xoxo*

Busy Busy Busy

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a line to say that things have been real busy for me. I've started to take an Astronomy class which runs from 3pm to 12am. Yeah, its a bit long, and takes a lot out of me. I also have finals to study for next week, so there might not be too many new blog posts. Anyway, I'm having fun, and that's the important fact. Talk to you later. -Skyler

Toyoda Dealership

Wow, who would know that a dealership has internet access. And not too shabby either. I'm standing at a computer in the middle of the repair lounge. Around me is tv's magazines and other stuff. Free coffee too for you coffee people. I think I'm actaully in a small show room, with the waiting room connected to this room. Anyway, this room has 2 computers monitors with keyboards out, so I decied to take hold of one and write on here. Hope everyone is doing well. I'll check back later and write a real post, but I just wanted to check in. Thank god that internet access is becoming available everywhere!

The Daily Show

Although you'll hear me slam the media, one show that I love is The Daily Show with John Stewart. Go to my link here and watch the Harry Potter Terror clip. This clip is soo funny, cause its not that far off on what "regular" media will do. I'd sugguest watching more clips. The reason I enjoy it, is that they present what they show as news, along with entertainment. I can still learn as much from the Daily Show as CNN, but its nice to see a group of people not take themselves seriously. And again, why do we need 24 hour news stations? How much news do we really need anyway. Okay okay, I'm ranting. Watch the daily show with John Stewart!

HOLY...um...POOP!

Well, this trip is seriously cramping my style. I am not having that fabulous of a time yet. It's been two weeks, so I still have four to go! Agh. I don't know what I'm going to do. Also, I am seriously going to gain like ten pounds before I leave here because everyone is trying to shove food down my throat like four times a day!!! What the heck? I don't keep this figure by eating my weight everyday. Anyway, so yeah, some new I guess. I just finished another book the other day that I really liked. It was called Jamima J and it was by Jane Green. It wasn't a literary masterpiece, nor was it a stupid simpleton book. I liked it a lot, though, the story was heart warming. It was about a fat girl who took it into her own hands to get skinny and then realized she sorta liked being fat. Hehe, interesting and definately sweet. Also, today, well actually on Saturday, these people that are from Toronto arrived here. We were really good friends with them the last time that we were here. Only the father and the youngest son came on Saturday, the rest of the fam, well the other two sons, are coming in two weeks and the mother in three. My whole point in this is that Adam, the oldest, probably now 20, has already set sights on me. His brother Lucas informed me that when he sees me he's going to slap me. It is all from a three-year-old memory: I smacked him with a fish the last time I was here. LoL! And if any of you know the story about why I think smoking is gross, this is the same guy. So yeah...that'll be exciting...I guess I better find a good place to hide. =) Anyway, not much going on here. We were going to climb Pico today but it didn't work out because the weather is SHIT. So I guess we will be waiting on that. Alrighty...I have just a couple things to say. I just also wanted to make the comment that my boyfriend is the most awesomest boyfriend ever and deserves like a Best Boyfriend grammy or whatever because he bought minutes so that we can talk on the phone every night! YAY for my boyfriend. Anyways, Sky, I am going to send you a nice check for twenty bucks so you can buy some more...that way I won't feel like you're getting ripped off because obviously I'm not that exciting. Anyways yea! Everyone have a nice day...see ya later alligator!

I'm watching The Family Guy on DVD and all I have to say is, I really like the theme song. Something about it is just cool. I'll work on figuring that out later. The shows are a little funny, not as good as South Park or The Simpsons. Maybe I just haven't seen enough shows or the right ones. Okay, back to watching more.

There is a box

I'm going to start this of by saying, there is a box. And this box is in my house. Inside the box are things filled with good tastes and good memories. I don't dare let myself go inside this box, for if I go in one time, I will return. This box showed up in my house this morning. To me, it showed up inside my house this morning. I do not know if it was already there, and I just noticed it today, or if it did show up this morning. If it showed up this morning, then that's all. If it had already been in my house, and I just noticed it this morning, then that would be all the more interesting. Last night, was a night, were I decided to give up soda for a while. I set my sight on one full week. No diet soda of any kind. I made up my mind, last night. I told myself, I want to go one week without drinking any soda. When I do drink soda now-a-days, I only drink diet soda because there are no calories. No calories means I can drink them without added them to my daily point system I keep track of. Anyway, I had started to notice that I was drinking a lot more soda over the last few months. When I first started to not drink regular soda, I didn't drink any diet soda neither. About two weeks later, I started to drink diet soda every week or so. Usually on special occasions. Never at home because we rarely have soda. Well, over the last week, I had noticed that I had drinken at least a soda can of diet soda a day. And I started to think, I know soda isn't the healthiest thing, even if it is calorie free, this isn't something I should be doing. So last night, after my last diet Pepsi, I called it quits (for a week). Well, this morning, I am walking though my house, when I notice a box. The box is an orange box. Not in its color, but for what it was used to cary things in. It carried oranges. But there are not longer and wipe oranges inside this box, oh no, now there is a orange box full of soda! Not only was there good soda, but good diet soda as well. Root Beer and Cream Soda are my favorites, and I'm sure I saw a few in there. But what does this really mean? Well, it means I'm just being tested. I'm not being tested by God, but inside myself, I am testing myself to see if I can win. If I can go a week without reaching inside that box, without filling a glass with ice, without pouring that sweet soda inside that ice glass, to then bring it to my lips to taste. Yes, this is a test. Make all the more interesting that the day I give up soda, a case full falls right in front of me. Now that I think about it, I give up money! :-D haha, we'll see if it comes true tomorrow...

OY!

Wow, it's one thirty in the morning here and I'm bored off my big fat Portuguese butt. Anyways, all has been truly uneventful. Today I finished a fabulous book, well, it was ok, but had be going, all page-turny and stuff. It was called The Amber Room by Steve Barry. I thought it was pretty fascinating. It is comparable to The DaVinci Code in historical information, but the writing is surely not on the same level. It was well-written but not with the same intricacy that Dan Brown ensues. Anyways, yeah I am bored. If you want me to write something amazingly intelligent, think again. I'm tired and bored, and just looking for something to do. I am going to go to bed in like a second...maybe watch a movie and finally go to sleep around four. haha. not. Anyway, I'll keep this one short, and maybe write a nice long one once I email my loverboy who I miss a ton. All you peeps (prob only Sky reads this) have a fab summer. I MISS CALIFORNIA!!!!!! But shh, don't tell the people over here. LoL.

Wednesday, July 06, 2005

Wow, I just saw the wierdest commercial. You see people with orange jackets in the forrest. So I guess these people are hunters. Then they cut to a dear eating or standing still next to a tree. Then you see the hunters looking and creeping towards the deer. They all stand up and start throwing rocks at the dear. There must be around a dozen or so hunters in this group. It seems like they were not all connected with each-other, but still going after the same dear. Anyway, you see the dear again, with rocks flying at it. The shot stays for around 3 seconds, untill the dear gets hit with a few rocks, then runs away. The next shot is the hunters looking sad that they didn't get the dear. Then, the ending shot, a snickers ad logo along with the saying "It's not satisfying unless you eat it". Okay, wtf!?!? What does hunting for a dear have to do with a snickers bar? Are they trying to make the ads so outrageous that people will watch just for entertainment? I think this really says something about advertising now-a-days, and how stupid brain dumb people us consumers must be. That if you are an established company with a product, you don't even need to advertise to sell the product, you just have to advertise the product. This means, all the companies have to do is show the Snickers logo, and people will buy that product. How did we get here? And as a comsumer, arn't you a little scared by that? The power that these ads have over your brain? Does that not chill you to the bone, like it does me? They don't even have to prove it to you anymore, they just show snickers logo. If this is true, how did we make that change where we think Snickers are the answer to out problems. Its just so crazy cause they only advertise the brand, not the product. Maybe thats what advertising is comming to now a days. People can remember a brand and logo better than a taste or feeling. We'll, I would say that they can advertise a logo better than anything else. You can see a logo in print, the internet, or on tv. I dunno, someone let me know what they think so I don't think I've gone crazy.

BORED!

Here I am, the same as the other days, bored. It's about 1 am here and there is nothing to do. We are currently watching Johnny English and it is seriously the stupidest movie ever! I am talking to my loverboy and he is sad about something he did. I feel bad for him because I know in my heart that he would never do anything to hurt anyone on purpose. I just hope his parents will realize that. I am sure they will in due time because they are rational people, of course. I just feel bad because he feels so terrible and there's nothing that I can really do to make him feel better. But, things happen and people must deal with them, right?
Well, moving on, I have a nice pic to post up here of the view from my bedroom window in my grandma's house. I will be able to post a pic of the house on the outside another day, but the view is pretty. Well, it seems blogger is disliking me right now so I'll have to do it another day. But whatever...well, Leaving off here on a happy-dappy note. I miss California, only a million days to go...hahaha. See ya all in August.

I'm Sorry

I'm sorry. There was a post on here that refereed to an event which happened a few days ago to a member of my family. I didn't understand what power I had in publishing that post, and I am sorry for those I have hurt. I hope they will see I didn't mean to hurt then in any way. I am truly sorry.

Happy 4th!

Wow, I just got back from an amazing night. First off was the firework show, which was awesome. My dad and I went and camped out on top of the theater parking garage, waiting for a spot. We got there an hour early, so my dad played some guitar. It was quite awesome, he is such an amazing player. My brother showed up right before the fireworks started, and we watched the show from the back of the dad's Tundra. I recorded the firework show, along with our commentary. You can find the mp3 here. Hey, if you kids didn't know, I have an audio blog at skyjournal.blogspot.com. Go check it out, I try to post cool things that people might want to listen to. I do all my typing blogging here so, don't worry, I'm not leaving anyone. Okay, so after all that cool stuff, my brother and I walked down the street and saw War of the Worlds. Damn was it a good movie. I thought Tom Cruz was actually good. Like, he is a good actor. I've been hearing flak about him for a few weeks now; he may be crazy, but he can sure act well. Well, thats what I think anyway. If you don't agree, leave us a comment here and tell me what you thought. Going back to the movie, it was well done I thought, a good summer movie. It really kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I can admit it was a bit scary at time. Aliens have always been the things that scare me the most. Now that I'm 19, it kept my heart pumping the whole time. Hmm, I wonder if I burn more callories watching that movie then walking. Haha, I must be dreaming. Okay, good night everyone. It's Skyler's bedtime so he can take a mid-term tomorrow... (scary). Night everyone, Happy 4th!

This is awesome

I'm over at my second uncle's house and he has a mac. Even better, he has a wireless network and I'm outside, with everyone. We're sitting here next to the fire as my dad plays 'Highway to Hell'. Most of the adults are having fun, singing along with the songs. Man, do I want a set-up like this. He's got a iBook G4 and its quite cool. He doesn't really know anything about macs, he just uses it to go to a fishing website everyday. Thats all! So, he's really got nothing on this thing, none of the iLife aps have been opened up. I think I was the first to open iTunes. I'm afraid to de-virginize his other apps. :-D hahaha. Anyway, I don't have too much else to report. I got some recording of this BBQ party that I'll add to my journal. Okay, thats it for now, I got some e-mail to attend to. Later all!

-Skyler

It's UGLY!!! Eep!

Okay, so I'm gone for two days and the blog turns ugly. Wahhhhh...I liked the old one, but whatever. Currently my baby is out working so I must entertain myself for one hour while he works. Its about 9:30 p.m. here. Consider this: pretty much nobody here goes to bed before 11 p.m. during the summer. Seriously! I just came back from a festa. It was so damn boring. Like seriously, it was terrible. We got there around 2:30 because my dad said it'd be "fun," but usually he's on crack. Anyways, we were there and sitting around and we didn'd come home now until 9:15. Granted, there were four bulls and they fought for a little while, but nothing particualarly amazing happened. After each bull they took like a half hour intermission I guess to keep people there longer and they sold drinks and beefanas (beef, butter, and bread sandwiches) that they were out of after the third bull. It wasn's that fun let me tell you. So now I'm here, being obsessive girlfriend I am, waiting for Sky to be done working. Hehe. I am not quite tired yet, and hopefully my cousin won't come home too soon and kick me off. I don't have much to say. Their keyboards here are different and where the apostrophe is there is a degree sign instead so I keep making that mistake and reaching over there...it's crazy. Hehe. My dad says he is going to hook up the internet in my grandma's house so that I can have my own connection and not have to share Miguel's which is already weird enough. But seriously there is nothing to do here! This morning I woke up at nine after sleeping about 19 hours. I read a book for two hours and already knocked out about an eighth of the whole thing. If I keep going that way I won't have any more books to read. I gotta hook up to the internet though so I can download Skyler's podcasts. I've been using my iPod regularly here. It's nice to have something that is a little interesting. I only have about 350 songs, but it's better than carrying 50 cds. They actually don't have iPod's here. Everything here is MSN. It's nutty because Apple's are cooler. They're available here, but everyone knows Microsoft and likes that better I suppose. Pretty much everything is made for Microsoft anyway (probably because with Apple you get so much software pre-installed that you don't need to purchase extra software, DUH MICROSOFT!). But whatever, ya know. Okay well I'm going to wrap up here. I wish I had stumble here, that would make surfing and wasting time easier. Haha...I'll try and keep posting. See ya later peeps. *xoxo*

Saturday, July 02, 2005

Now thats really funny, I just got an e-mail from Monique, so I e-mailed her back, then I sent a post here, and its like 2 minutes behind Monique's. I wonder where she'll be next...
You ever have one of those weird sleeping days? The last two days have been like to for me. Thrusday night/Friday morning, I went to bed at 4am, then woke up around 10 on Friday morning. Then Friday night, i was out around 9pm, and now I'm up at 6:30am Saturday. 6:30! I'm never up this early. It feels really weird to be up doing things. But I do got lots of time, so I'm going to use it to the fullest!

You make it sound like a bad thing...

I didn't think that me going away was going to be so "good" to you. The way that post was writted I'd have thought that I take up a lot of time that you could use for better things. I hope not! If I do, I promise I don't mean to. Well, I'm in Pico, woo-freakin'-hoo. Email me or something...I'd love some entertainment here on this secluded island. I love you still, Sky! *xoxo*
p.s. It's actually 2:06 pm here! Oy!

Friday, July 01, 2005

I'm finding I have a lot of free time now that Monique is gone. I've looked at what my summer is going to be, and its really quite open. Good thing my family is going camping durning the first week of August, then I think I might head down to see my aunt and uncle in SLO. OKay, this is just a quick post. Maybe I'll be seeing a movie tonight.
