Petaluma Flooded!!!
Wow, what a morning. I was woken up at 8 a.m. by my mom telling me that Petaluma was starting to flood, and that my Mom and Dad were going to head out and check it out. I of course, got right up, put on my clothes, and got in the truck. I of course brought my camera. First we traveled to the Petaluma River to check out how high the water was. From there we traveled down the street a bit to check out other locations on the river. The sky was amazing! From there, we headed on the Boulevard till we got near the outlet mall. It was flooded everywhere. At least my Mom took a nice shot of me. From here we tried to get over the overpass to get my grandparents mobal home, but that was flooded as well. We went over the overpass mid town and got to the mobal home park. The whole street was flooded as well. We walked though the park and got Kevin. From here we drive around for a bit, taking some photos all along the way. The intersection right near the post office on the east side was completely wet. I took a lot of photos there as a truck tried to drive though. He had no such luck. We wanted to get on the freeway to head south, cause we heard that all the cars at the dealerships were underwater as well. When we hit the overpass, the whole area on the other side was underwater. Looks like no more cheap gas for a while. We got on the freeway, but not to much was under water. Though, they might have a dry-out sale comming soon. We ended up back on the west side, looking at a few more places we had looked at when we first got out, but nothing much to report. We guessed that the water level had gone down a few inches. What an amazing morning.

Ahoy! Our storm drain runneth over!!!
Check out my awesome pics of my street flooding the night of my birthday. Yeah it definately poured, but did you have to swim home? NO! LoL...I had to take Skyler back home and on the way home from about the intersection of Gavin and Garrett (my street), it was up to our ankles...and then crossing the dips on the sides of the street up to our driveway was up to mid-calf. But then, a half hour or so later, here it all come and soon enough it's in people's garages! That's probably not good...hahaha. Check it out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/moeishellofcool/. It's under the "birthday flood" set if it doesn't automatically show up on top. Bye all!

To the Beach!
What a morning. We headed to Shell Beach, well Pismo beach, but not the tourist Pismo beach. It use to be called Shell Beach, but for some reason, they changed it to Pismo Beach. Anyway.... We took a trip to the beach this morning. Really pretty out early in the morning. Around 9:30am we got there. I walked around, took some pictures, and read 90 pages from Harry Potter. It wsa sure a sunny morning. Bright to really really bright.
This afternoon, we had lunch back at the house, then to San Luis Opisbo. Stopping at the Costco there, we felt right at home. Man, the Costco down here is identical to the one in Rhonert Park to a dime. My brother and I both were freaked out. I showed my bro what I wanted for Christmas from him, and we'll see if its anything close tomorrow. I'd be excited if it is... Then we were downtown walking around. Checking out the surf shops and small stores, it was real fun. I learned something really interesting about the surf industry today. Apparently, the foam company that makes 90% of the foam bodies for surf boards in the world went out of bussiness. So, foam surf boards right now are not being made. Its so crazy. I wish Alec or Trevor would leave a comment to explain it better, but I guess it is very serious. Back to downtown SLO, Trevor and I walked around for a long time, checking out Abercrobie and some sports shops. Saw a lot, but nothing worth buying the day before Christmas.
Right now I'm sitting in a group of my relatives as they talk about what a blog is, what winipedia, and such. I got to go so they can read my blog. Later all!

Christmas is comming
Life is great. Right now, I'm sitting in a movie room, very dark. I'm watching James Bond from a projection player on a wall, just like in those movie theaters we frequently go to. In my lap, a very nice iBook. I took a few pictures, i'll put them up tomorrow. I'm a little lazy right now. I mean, I don't want to get out of my chair with my blanket and laptop keeping me warm.
I've heard good news from Monique. I won't say to much for her to let her break the news, but it was definatly good news. Okay, can't say too much now.
Anyway, I've put a picture in this post, which links to the photo set that well be updating with every time I put new pictures up. There should be photos for 3-4 days worth comming, so the photo set will get large. Just make sure you see all the pages of the photo set. New pictures will be at the end, not the begining. I might change that later though. Who knows? Okay, this movie, Die Another Day, is kind of crappy. Holly Berry and Modana, come on. Can't we find some real Bond women? At least they got the right car in this movie. Damn, its hot. I want a ride... Okay, I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. Have a good Saturday!

What's up with me...
Hey everyone, yes, I'm alive. And it sure has been a bit busy around here. Maybe not school buisy, but break busy. I'd thought I'd give a little of an update about me so everyone knew what was going on. So, Christmas is comming, and I am done shopping. It really helps saving your money before hand. I'm really exciting this year, cause everyone's gift is awesome. I think each gift I got will really be cool for each person. I'm excited about that. Finals were fairly okay, and I got through them. Now its time for next semister. Oh course, I'm excited because I was accepted by SSU, so look for me in a SSU sweatshirt soon. This last weekend, the Furtado's threw an awesome Christmas Party. You can check out all the pictures I took by clicking on that big cookie. Man, I just love Flickr <--- special link here, check it out. Okay, so I've been getting into the Harry Potter series. The week before, I listened to book 2, and right now, I'm about to finish the third book, The Prisoner of Azkaban. Yeah, the books are really cool. A lot of good writing, the characters just jump right out of the book. It might be easy cause I've seen the movies, but the books really do stand out for themselves. Yeah, so that's about it for right now. I'm leaving this minute to go pick up Monique. We got some shopping to do for Alex's birthday party. That should be fun. I have to show Monique where we got the idea for our scavenger hunt. Okay, things are getting busy around here. Later all!

The Van Heusen Terrorists
I was just listening to KATG (if you're not a regular, Kieth and the Girl is a podcast, check it out of course @ keithandthegirl.com), and getting the latest scoop on celebs and stuff. What just about killed me was the comments about Paris Hilton wanting to "get back together" with newly single Nicole Richie. HAHAHAHA! Does anyone else think thats nuts? All we need is those two nitwits gracing the television screens as friends. It is much more interesting when they are talking shit, because together they make the stupidest blonde duo since Barbie and Ken. But who am I to say anything? I sure am not the producers of the Simple Life, right? Anyhoo, moving onto Family Guy tonight. MUY funny! The first Office Space joke I've ever heard on that show. So0o0o0o0o funny. I also watched American Dad tonight because the commercial made it seem interesting, but the jokes just aren't as funny as Family Guy. I am completely depressed about this Desperate Housewives SUSPENSION. WHY on EARTH do they stop shows during the holidays when everyone is ACTUALLY HOME TO WATCH THEM!?!?! I mean, they postponed D.H. until January about two weeks ago! And the O.C. too?! What am I going to do on Sunday and Thursday nights? Sleep? Gosh no.
I don't know about any of you people, but I seriously think that the Showbiz Show with David Spade is hilarious. He just has this way of presenting the "so-called news" that makes celebrities seem like even bigger douche-bags than they really are (which is a lot to say, considering). So watch it peeps...The Showbiz Show.
Okay so now to the real dirt:
Today I go into work at eleven, just to be greeted by pouring rain. Thinking that it is going to be a slow day since few people wish to bear the trying times of rain, I sit back and don't worry about cleaning all freakin' day. But sure enough, every hour or so, here comes a Van Heusen Terrorist. Few people actually know the meaning of terrorist, so dictionary.com told me it simply is: One that engages in acts or an act of terrorism (a.k.a. ruining every display known to man, one sweater at a time). Now, let me explain the common profile of a Van Heusen terrorist:
Commonly possessing the following:
--an oversize purse containing nothing but a wallet and 2,948,265 receipts for "promt" returns.
--many small bags with small purchases
--sticky fingers
--strong purfume
--deer-in-the-headlights glare
Now, while in retail it is our job to serve, it is most certainly not our job to clean up after careless people. What bugs me (and my co-associates) is that the V.H.T.'s will enter the store, make eye contact with the first piece of clothing they will attack, lift the top shirt up (unfolding it in the process) and look at it, then rifle through all the piles to find one in their size in every color and hold those up as well. They then will commonly move on to the next fixture and make our $7.00/hour even MORE hard to earn, moving along until they have reached the men's section at which time they will shuffle up to the socks, and buy a pair or two, just to feel little bit satisfied that the trek was worth it! Now, I know we are there to keep the place clean, but it's not to clean up after indecisive, uncaring shoppers who think their life is the worst. Hello? I work in retail and it's the holidays, I think I am a teeny bit ahead of you. All I ask is that if you must unfold something, please only the top one, because I guarantee all the sizes look exactly the same and only fit a different body size. I promise. Usually, if it's in the same pile, it is the same shirt. For sure. ARGH. So how about that Mr. Bush...how about a war on Van Heusen Terrorists!? Hmm...well...I guess not. Anyway, whatever.
So nothing is really going on with me. I plan to hopefully finish my christmas shopping tomorrow morning/afternoon. I have only one person left, and he's a toughy. But I'll figure something out! Hopefully everyone else has made good progress with that. I know that no one has procrastinated till the last minute, right? Haha. Anyways, everyone have a great week and hopefully I will get a chance to update again soon ( like tomorrow?).
PARTAY!
^^One day I will conquer the Van Heusen Terrorists!!!^^

Gobble Gobble!!!
Well, here I am, in sunny San Diego, Cali. It's actually the same weather here as it is up in Petaluma, RP, and Santa Rosa. It's nice...we got here at about 1:30...the flight went pretty well. I am actually regretting not having brought my camera. There have already been tons of opportunities to take some great pictures. So we waited for about an hour and a half at the airport cuz we got there nice and early. We got on the plane and stuff...and the flight attendants were hilarious! At first when we were all boarding he kept saying things like "the seats are all blue and tan, they'll all get to San Diego at the same time, and they're all equally uncomfortable, so sit down!" It was sooooo funny! So we are all seated and preparing for take-off, right, and one of the flight attendants SINGS us the safety speech. Now, if I had my camera I coulda taken some sweet video of the peanuts...even though I would have gotten in trouble. Then as we're climbing in the air and we're inclined, they say, "Here come the peanuts!!" And they threw them down on the floor so they slid to the end of the plane!!! And of course, lol, I was on the aisle, so I got the action. It was so freakin' awesome. Usually exciting things don't happen on the airlines, but Southwest continues to impress me. Anyhoo, then, at the end, since it was Thanksgiving, we even got chocolate!!! Woohoo...so then we got our sweet rental car, a brand new Pontiac G6 and stuff, and now here we are! At the Dana Hotel on the Marina. Definately picture-worthy, damn me. LoL...we got to have some Thanksgiving dinner too...well sorta...we had a Turkey dish at this restaurant. I'm actually sad, though, that we weren't at home! I like my grandma's cooking better!!! Well, duh, and now seeing Skyler's lovely spread makes me even more jealous! Oh well. I hope everyone had a really awesome Thanksgiving...and good luck at the mall tomorrow when everyone and their sister and aunt is going to be there too! We are headed to some mall around here to party with all the really expensive stores...it'll be awesome. Definately I'll update tomorrow. The internet is $3.95 for twenty-four hours here, so starting at about 5:50pm, I'll have the 'net until 5:50pm tomorrow too!!! Yay. Talk to you all LATER. Have fun digesting your stuffing.
Love, kisses, hugs, and gobbles from San Diego,
Monique

Happy Birthday Skyler
When I was younger, I was always trying to figure things out all the time. I was just trying to be too smart for my age at times. Here is a good example. I think when I was in the 3rd grade, I remember my parents making popcorn at night before watching a movie. Laying in bed, I tried to figure out the percentage on nights popcorn was consumed. I had no way of even going about figuring that out with the math I had, but I still tried. I hope that example shows what I'm talking about. I always seemed to be trying to figure things out that I didn't have the knowledge to understand. Anyway, it seems like now I can really start to understand things. Religion is one of those things I'm starting to understand now. Well, that's hard to understand even now. I'm not talking about the spiratual part of it, I'm talking about the politcal part of it. you know, all the different sects. Okay, I'm getting a bit off here so let me return to myself.
So, now what? Now the big questions start to come up. What do I want to do with my life? What's important to me? What should be important to me? Yeah, all that stuff.... Okay, time to get ready for dinner. Have a great November 21 everyone!

The Squirrels ARE Evil!!!
Okay, this is like the craziest thing ever, okay? So this one day I am walking to go meet Sky outside his sightsinging class. So I'm around the theather arts parking area and all of a sudden an acorn hits me, like missing my head by inches! And the weird thing was that it wasn't like dropped on me, it came at me with force! So I picked up the acorn to give to Skyler, thinking that it would be a good story to tell him when he got out of class. Well, yesterday (yes, Monday, November 14th), I was walking out of my chemistry class and another one pelts me, except HARDER, but this time hitting my shoulder strap of my backpack, again missing my head by inches! I flipped out, needless to say. So I dashed over to Skyler, who witnessed the whole thing...
Now people, wouldn't you say the squirrels are out to get me? Sky is like, uh no. HOW CAN THEY NOT BE? They are pelting me with their nuts!!! *deep breath* Okay. So much for them protecting their nuts. Instead they are plotting against me, trying to shoot me with their miniature acorn bazookas. O0o0o0oh, I'm so scared. (Actually, it is pretty scary.) So warning to all people...WATCH OUT FOR SQUIRRELS. They may be cute, but they are merciless! Like Mr. Stedman used to say: "Maybe you're paranoid, or maybe they really are out to get you."
IN OTHER NEWS...
Well, it's been about a hundred years since I posted, so I thought I'd post and talk a little bit about what I have been up to.
New things:
**I got a twenty-five cent raise at work. OKAY. ONE YEAR. OF HARD LABOR. AND ALL I GET IS A QUARTER!? Does that makes sense? Do you suppose the sweet little Pakistani boys get excited when they get a penny raise? This is the U.S.!!! Gimme all your money Phillips Van Heusen!!!
**Skyler made goal! Yay! So awesome. And then he spent tons of money on a bunch of clothes from Abercrombie and Fitch...a chip of the old girlfriend block. Hehe.
**Skyler's car is healthy again! It's super! Now it doesn't decide to stop in the middle of the freeway. Also, I managed to get him a $4.99 oil change at PepBoys. Who's the good girlfriend now?

If I think about, it seems that all I have been doing is working on my diet. It really has become such a big part of my life. I'm glad to say that I really do like the way I think about food now. Now that I'm not trying to loose weight anymore, I don't plan on doing much different. I think I just plan to eat a bit more so I can sustain my weight. We'll find out how good I am at that this week.
Okay, I promised myself I would get to sleep at 10:30 tonight, so I have to cut this short. Look for more tomorrow. Maybe some pics and more talk. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Templete Lost
For those who can't tell already, our templete was lost. So, that means our page looks a lot different. I guess Blogger updated there templetes or something, so now we have gone back to the default blue templete. But don't worry... Skyler is here! I'll be sure to make it look like its old self very soon. I just have to spend some time doing some HTML editing... Not a lot of fun, but its no problem. Its kind of fun cause we can start over and add new things. Anyway, I'll be adding pics from Thursday night to Flickr soon. And of course, writtings about this weekend once the weekend has past. Man, it sure is cool to have a laptop to work on. Getting to school early andbeing able to do all the work I needed to do online while sitting in my warm car is just awesome. I can't wait for the Intel mac laptops in the next year or so. Hope everyone had a great Halloween! I did. Monique and I watched movies all day. Starting with American Pie, then Dreamcatcher, and finishing off with Scream. It was fun. Ate too much popcorn though :-P. Okay, we do have to get to class here soon, so I'll catch up with you another time. Have a great day.

Life...no faaiiiirrrr!
Oh, yesterday I went on a date with my luver boy. I can't believe we have been going out for a year. It sure doesn't seem like that long. It has really just flown by! It's so funny because we can still go to the same restaurants and do the same old things and still have the same amount of fun as we did the first times we were doing it. That is one thing I really love about our relationship. Nothing gets old as long as you are doing it with someone you love doing anything with. But yeah, anyways, we went to El Torito because we haven't been there in like ages! It was so good. Then we went to the movies...but before that we headed to Sky's house where some boys were getting ready for homecoming. Oh the good old days of getting dressed up and being pretty. Anyway, they look fairly good compared to the way they normally look (Trevor and Devin, that is). But yeah...so then we went to see North Country. Such a good movie. Definately deserves a nice 5 stars. If you're into those serious kind of movies, then I think you'll like it. It's definately a serious movie in that it deals with some hard stuff, so yeah.
Mkay, well I worked today, that was super-un-duper. It was like really busy. All day. It was horrible. Then it was like mad clean up the store at the end of the night. So that sucked. But oh well. I was in a good mood--probably from all those endorphins (sp?) that I was high on. Niiiiice. I should do that like everyday. Exercise makes me happpppy. Hehe.
Well, I think it's around my bedtime, so I better get to sleep so I can wake up early to study for chem test. Wish me luck!

Starbucks Coffee - "Week in Review"
Starbucks Coffee
Originally uploaded by skylerf85.
Good afternoon everyone. Or, I was thinking good morning when I had the idea to post this blog post. A lot has gone on here this week so I wanted to catch you all up. Let's start off with Weight Watchers.
These last few weeks have been real interesting. I havn't been keeping track of every single thing I eat, and I know I have been eating more points that I am offically alloted. But I know it will happen as I get closer and closer to goal. Speaking of goal, I had only .8 pounds to loose. I hope I did it this week, we'll see tomorrow.
This week started off good enough but then the problems started on Tuesday. After driving up to Monique's house to pick her up, my car wouldn't start. Its been having real bad problems, but this time it wouldn't even go. Usually, I could get it to work fine after a minute or two, but it was bad this time. Black smoke comming out the back of the car, and it would die really quick. So we scratched that and took Monique's Tercel. I did get it working enough to drive home at 10 oclock that night. I dropped it off at my mechanics, and that was that. They gave me a call today saying that they finally got my car to "mess" up this time. Once they got it going bad, he was about to figure out what it might be. He still has to do some tests, but its very promising now. Before, he didn't even know what was wrong with it. And the idea he had before, costing over $800 isn't what is wrong. SO maybe I will get out without too much dent in my wallet.
I've really been getting into learning about my digital camera, and it has really helped me out. So far, I got my own camera to take some great shots. The picture about this is one I took today. Monique and I went to Starbucks to get some coffee, and I had an idea to take this shot. In the past, my camera was taking really bad shots, and I found out that it was because the white ballance was out of wacks, and my IPO settings were too high. I got that all figured out and it looks great now. Tell me what you think my posting a comment on the picture. Okay, so I got the Starbucks bug this week. I think I had it 3 times this week. I actually find it good. What makes coffee cool is that I can eat something real light in the morning, some coffee before class, and then I'm fine till lunch. I don't know if its the best idea, but it is what I did. I think I'll be back to normal next week. Also, having a little bit of money makes me try new things and eat out a bit more. Need to take my lunnch to school next week for sure...
In upcomming events for Skyler, I'm playing at the Sandpiper Friday night. Come see my from around 6pm to 9pm. I'll be playing accoustic guitar with a looper, so expect three straight hours of music. I rarly take breaks. I even drink my water / diet soda while playing at the same time. Kind of a skill I picked up from having the guitar attached to myself as I went through High School. Speaking of high school and getting through it, I think having something to focus on like that makes things a bit easier. I think all kids, hell, all people need a creative outlet. And thanks to my skills and tools, I can make what I want to make. Now-a-days, it is so freaking easy to make what you want to make. Be it music, to photos, to video, to whatever, computers really are the best tool. Digital information is so very easy to edit and create, and the internet is the best distribution service in the world. If you need any tips or help on what to do, send me a line. I guess after listening to Loe Laporte, I remember the real point of having a compuer. Its a awesome tool to make what you want to get made. In summary, get yourself into a pashion, a hobby. Mine right now is taking better photos. Also, I got Front Row to work on my old iMac. Yay for being a pirate ;)
Okay well, that is going to be it for today. Looks like Monique is being forced to make dinner, so I'm going to go entertain her. Its kind of cute, she gets all mad about having to do things around the house, but then when I make her happy, she forgets all about it. Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you soon!

Updates, Updates
Yeah, I know, its been a while. Things have really been so busy for me (skyler) that I havn't had any real time to sit down to really do much in the way of what I want to do. And on my list of things to do, blogging isn't number 1. I mean, I still got 3 Netflix movies at home to watch. But the reason I'm here today is that I'm over at Monique's house and I have some time. Monique is cooking her world famous pasta, and I'm sitting in the kitchen waiting for it.
Things have really been busy for me with school and such. Even my weekends feel packed. I'm doing school work and going to school Monday through Thursday. Friday is like my day off. Well, it use to be. Then I started playing at the Sandpiper in Bodega Bay, and so my Friday nights were gone. I've played there 5 times now. I usually do Friday and Saturday. Anyway, so that takes up my weekend nights. I play out there cause the money is good, and I need it. I'm having car trouble, but I don't really want to go into that. Let's just say having a few dollars in the bank waiting is always a good thing.
School has been crazy as well. Just today I had a test in every class I went to. Not really a fun time. But from bad things come good things. When you don't think anything good will come. (Monique is kind of getting yelled at right now. I hope something good comes out of it. I feel kind of bad for her. I hope they just get together sometime soon. This could be a long night) Anyway, school is busy, no doubt. Oh yeah, I happened to listen to the Black Eyed Peas album by chance walking around school today, and its really a good album. I've always liked some of there songs, I just never gave them all a try. Now that I have, I seem to like the whole album. Its called Elephunk. So, thats good in all.
New things on the computer landscape. My dad just got a new iMac G5 yesterday. Bought it cheap off apple's website. It was like $750 or something. Quite a steal, I'd say. I do really think that I should get his old one though. I'd be able to use it much more. So, the new iPod came out and I think I really want one. I just saw one today at Best Buy. But Best Buy is sooo dumb, they have one on disply, but with NOTHING ON IT! Omg, what's the point? Its just a white screen. It is a cool white screen though. I really wanted to see how good video looked on it. I guess I'll have to wait till I go to the Apple store soon. It would be awesome to get one for my birthday or christmas.
Anyway, thats about it right now. Lilly, Monique's cat, is settled into my lap, and I should pet her for a while. I'll try to add more stuff if I get more time soon. Have a great weekend everyone and we'll talk to you later!

ELEVEN MONTHS!!!
Wow, peeps. Viva la SkynMoe. It is (was?) our 11 month anniversary today! And actually we didn't really do anything special. We went to school. WOOHOO. Actually, it was sorta funny this a.m. I was about to finish getting ready to go to school when I thought it might be a good idea to call and make sure that Skyler was awake and up since he had an 8 a.m. class. Well, I called him and like five minutes into the convo the door bell rings and I'm like whoa, who could that be? I didn't for one second think it was him -- but it was! He even brought me some coffee yay! So that helped a little bit today since the both of us sorta had one of those hectic mondays. I pretty much flunked a nice chemistry test. Yay, I think. And then I had to go to work...another yay. But not so bad. It was still cool cuz Mr. Fuhrman was there to surprise me yet again! And then we went to G&G and he bought me a carnation just like he had for each of our past ten months. It's going to be sad once we pass one year. I hope we still count each month cuz it makes that day that much more special. It's like an excuse to celebrate us, and as far as I know there is nothing wrong with celebrating awesome stuff like being in love. Yep. If you think otherwise then stop being negative. If there's one thing I learned from my lover boy is that being negative brings YOU and everyone around you down, so stop it! Hehe.
~*what a cutie, no?*~
*New things*
-->Keith and the Girl (podcast): soooooo funny. I know I used to tell Skyler that he was weird cuz he like worshiped them, but they are funny and I'm hooked. Check it out peeps! www.keithandthegirl.com
-->Jason Mraz: I love his song "Wordplay." I don't know why, I just do. If you spend $.99 in your life, download that one.
-->Alec Fuhrman: DUH I like him, but his music is literally awesome, too. (my fave: Canciones de San Francisco)

iSky Radio
The reason podcasting is so cool is that it allows me to listen to what I want, when I want. Podcasting also allows me to get away from commercial radio. You know, that thing you I use to listen to in the morning. The cool content that was between commercials and other crap on the radio. I remember a time when I use to listen to good stuff that came on once an hour. Now with podcasts, I can listen to what I want to listen to, when I want to listen to it. It's like Skyler Fuhrman is the station manager at iSky radio. (I know that radio stations start with a k on the west coast, but since I have an iPod, I'm in change of iSky radio. If you still don't get it, I'm taking the i from iPod, and adding my own 3 letter tag at the end to make it my own). In the morning, maybe an hour long tech show about what's going on with apple computers. As soon as I'm done with that, skip on to the next thing. No more commercials, no more hassle. And when i get out of the car, I put my station on hold and it waits till I'm ready in the afternoon to start back up again. I hope that makes it real easy for non podcasting people to understand.
So what do I listen to on iSky radio? Well, I do have some favorites now that I've been station manager for 4+ months now. My tech shows out number my "other" shows, but I like tech shows cause its the way I am. Here below is the shows I am subscribed to, and a little bit of information about them. *To subscribe to any of these shows in iTunes, or in your favorite podcasting software, simple copy and paste the feed for each show. In iTunes 4.9 and 5, click the advanced tab, then 'subscribe to podcast'. Then paste the feed into the box that pops up, thats it!
'The Starkcast' - http://feeds.feedburner.com/starkcast - A show hosted my Jim K, that comes out once a week, sunday usually. A catch-all podcast that covers tech, entertainment, politics, funny bits, ranting, raving, swearing...it's like the entire internet in one convenient place! I don't want to say too much, just letting you know its under the Explicit tag in iTunes.
Adam Curry: Daily Source Code - http://www.curry.com/xml/rss.xml - THE PODCAST that started it all. Adam Curry, the godfather of podcasting is still going strong. I would say his show is like the water cooler spot for podcasting. Its the show that everyone listens to. And its not a bad show either. I would admit that it does get a little slow at times, but then it rocks once in a while as well. I enjoy the music and some of the rants. If you want to know about podcasting, you need to hear Adam.
Ancestor - http://feeds.feedburner.com/ancestor - For those who didn't catch Earthcore, Scott Sigler is an awesome author. He doesn't have anything published as of yet (Earthcore the paperback will be out soon on Amazon) but his books rock. I listened to all of Earthcore. Each week a new episode came out, and each week you kept wanting more. Some people called it Earthcrack. I've you ever have been addicted to tv show, like 24, you'll know what its like. Here is the describion of this new podnovel. This new story just started last night, so download the first one, and look every week for a new one! "The audiobook follow-up to Sigler's smash-hit podcast novel EarthCore. On a remote island in Lake Superior, scientists struggle to solve the problem of xenotransplantation -- using animal tissue to replace failing human organs. Funded by the biotech firm Genada, Dr. Claus Rhumkorrf seeks to recreate the ancestor of all mammals. By getting back to the root of our creation, Rhumorrf hopes to create an animal with human internal organs. Rhumkorrf discovers the ancestor, but it is not the small, harmless creature he envisions. His genius gives birth to a fast-growing evil that nature eradicated 350 million years ago -- an evil now on the loose, and very, very hungry."
Cinecast - http://feeds.feedburner.com/cinecast - Quite simple, a movie podcast. A bi-weekly podcast from Chicago featuring new Movie Reviews, Top 5 Lists, Overlooked DVD Picks and insightful film talk with Adam Kempenaar and Sam Hallgren.
Diggnation - http://feeds.feedburner.com/diggnation - Diggnation is a weekly tech/web culture show based on the top digg.com social bookmarking news stories. Hosted by Kevin Rose & Alex Albrecht. In regular speak, two guys talk about tech and web stuff that was popular on the site digg.com. Its cool cause its kind of a guy's tech show, very easy show. Check it out, it comes out once a week too.
Geek News Central Podcast - http://www.geeknewscentral.com/podcast.xml - A tech show, a bit geeky podcast that comes out every Tuesday and Friday. For the geek at heart, its very cool. Check out the website as well.
Inside Mac Radio - iTunes Only Link - A daily podcast, under 10 minutes, with all the Apple computer news for each day. On Saturday, the super long 2 hour show, with interviews and much more info.
Jimmy Jet - http://www.jimmyjet.com/wordpress/wp-rss2.php - The "show about nothing" but really it isn't. Comes out 3 times a week and talks about cool things. Every show there is a, this day in history, along with some other cool facts. Then to wrap it up, something entertaining as well. I would recommend this one cause its so cool.
Keith and The Girl - http://shitecom.libsyn.com/rss/ - My favorite podcast! I would call it a morning style podcast. A guy, keith, and his girlfriend talk each day. Living in New York City, and working as clowns, Keith and the girl make everything entertaining. The show comes out on Monday-Friday. So, 5 times a week. Its so great, you have to listen. It's under comedy cause it is supposed to be funny, and it is. Just make sure you listen to it with an open mind...
MacCast - http://feeds.feedburner.com/maccast - A show for Mac Geeks by Mac Geeks. It covers everything Macintosh. Keep up to date on the latest Mac news, topics and rumors. Throw in a good dose of helpful tips and listener questions and feedback and you have the MacCast. Enjoy!
This Week in Tech - http://leo.am/podcasts/twit - The most popular podcast I would be willing to say. And also a fellow Petaluma guy. Leo Laporte is the host of a tech roundtable. Yes, another geek/tech podcast, but this one is good as well. The show is done live at a restaurant now.
Security Now - http://leo.am/podcasts/ns - Another podcast done by Leo Laporte. This one, you should listen to. It talks about security on your computer. If you have a windows computer, or are interested in security tips at all, you need to listen. It has plenty of tips and tricks for people to help keep themselves secure on the net. Make sure you download all the episodes from the past as well. Its only 4 shows to download... and its worth your time.
The InfidelGuy Show - http://www.infidelguy.com/infidelguy_shows.rss - Program discussing science, religion, philosophy, the paranormal and atheism with great guests brought to you from a skeptical perspective by an atheist in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hey, that's it! Wow, that took a long time to get all those links and stuff, so please check them out. I don't want all my time to go to waste. Let me know what your listening to as well so I can listen too. Have a great day everyone!
It's a Monique post!
Oh yeah! We (me and Skyler) went and saw The Aristocrats. Whoa...so disgusting. It was this whole documentary of comics just telling this joke over and over again and decomposing and explaining it. It was rather intersting. Some funny parts. Some funny people that I never knew about. Learn something new everyday. So yeah.
BIG NEWS: Sky got new shoes today! I had my first Chemistry Exam today!
Small news: You can't see this. Haha...no, the iPod nanos ARE FREAKING SWEET!
Anyway, yes. Oh and tomorrow I have badminton. I love badminton. Sometimes I really don't understand it, but it is really awesome. I just get this cool feeling from going every tuesday and just being there and playing. But I need new shoes. :( Mine are busting up my knees cuz I have worn out the support in them. Which is stinky, because I don't know if I have enough money to even pay my bills ... argh!
I love chocolate. I really want some right now. Actually right now I really am craving a York peppermint patty. So random, but so freaking good. Okay, well I am running out of things to talk about. My life isn't going around in too many circles, but I'll let you peeps know if it does.
Check out the newspaper (Argus) on Wednesday and see if Sky and I are in it!

Saturday Night
I hope everyone is having a good Saturday night. My day has been excelent. I'll tell you all about it so here we go. After staying up till midnight last night, I thought that I would try to wake up early this morning so I could get some work done. I figured seven and a half hours would be a nice sleep time, so I set my alarm for 7:40ish. I once heard that you sleep in intervals of an hour thirty minutes. I heard it takes you about an hour thirty minutes to go through a cycle of REM sleep. That's the time in your sleep when your eyes move up and down. The time when you get your best rest. I also heard that its better to wake up after or befor you next cycle. I think the place that I heard this also said that the reason you can sleep really long and still feel tired is that you woke up mid-REM, and that you don't feel awake because you were in the middle of your REM. It could also explain why you might feel better after getting six hours of sleep sometimes (if you plan your REM cycle right). So I dunno if this is true, but it is how I try to organize my sleep time. If anyone has any info on if this is true, let me know! Send me an email and let me know.
Okay, so I get a bit off subject. So I ened up waking up before my alarm clock went off, but I layed in bed half asleep till 7:50. From then I got up and tried to get ready for the day. I had planned on working some of my jobs (I'm a janitor working for my dad btw) this morning before going to be with Monique. I didn't end up getting out of my house till 9:10 though cause I was lazy. I started downloaded the newest episode of The OC for Monique before I left as well. I ended up going to work and doing all that. This morning was my big job. This week, my dad assigned me to do things a bit different this week. Instead of doing the rag cleaning on all 7 of our jobs, I was told to do the "rag" part on 2 of them, and do the vaccumming on all of them. So this morning I had to do the rag part and vaccumming on the biggest job we had. I took me over 2 hours to do it all. It goes be faster than you would think, cause your working every second of it. It also went fast cause I was listening to last week's TwiT. I finally finished up, very proud of my work. I believe this was the first time I did a full job by myself. I'm glad to see that my dad trusts me to do it all by myself. Okay, the only thing I didn't do was the bathrooms, but I'm sure I'll learn that in time as well.
So I went up to Monique's house around noon. I was invited to go see Must Love Dogs with Monique and her Mom. We took the drive up to Santa Rosa to the Roxy. It was fun to listen to Monique and her Mom, Melinda, talk about girl things. I just sit in the back and listen, I try not to say much. Its kind of like going to the zoo and you can watch the animals in their "natural" habitat. Hehe, okay, kind of a joke, but I thought it was funny. They aren't animals, but I also like to know how people interact with one another. When Monique tells me how conversations work with her parents, I also like to know the other point of view. So, I really like to see how people talk to one another, and see how they interact. I keep track of the mood of the conversation, the language, and physical expression when people talk. So I kept track of how they were talking.
The movie was much better than I thought it would be. I thought for a romantic comedy, it was not so bad. Of course, some parts were very predictable, but other things kept you guessing. I also really like John Cossack (sp?). He reminds me of my dad, along with myself. So, that's how the movie went.
The afternoon was filled with going to the mall, taking along her brother Davide. My mission was to find a new pair of shoes. After walking though the whole mall, I was once again looking at Vans again. I just like the way the shoes look. Skater shoes or not, I like them, so there. Maybe the reason I don't care about shoes, is that I don't associate shoes to certain lifestyles. I guess some people think that if you wear Vans, your a certain style of kid or person. I don't ever see that. I really think your attitude and personality really determine what kind of person you are.
I got my first Portuguese soccer experience last night. The males of Monique's recorded a soccer game on TiVo, and they watched it after it was done. It was damn cool to see how Tivo worked. I've heard lots about it, and know about it, but this was really cool to see in person. Just like a VHS recorder, you just record tv comming in and watch it later. Man, sounds just like podcasting. Time shifted video though, not audio. I'd sure like to record the Daily Show every night. Anyway, the soccer game was fun. We all sat down to watch it. Monique's dad and I talked about soccer, as he explained how it works. I have to say, I really don't know much more than the basics when it comes to soccer. I know how many players there are, you use your feet, I know the positions, and stuff like that, but I got lots of information last night. What was cooler was that I got to learn how soccer works in Europe. More specifally, Portugal. I'll do my best to explain how this works, and if I get something wrong, leave me a comment to get it right. So, they have a nation league, with 6 times. Under that, there is another league with about 6 teams as well. The first, or top league plays all year, and the top three teams of that year stay up on the top league, while the three lower teams move into the lower bracket. So, the top 3 teams from the lower league move up into the upper league. Wow, complicated, but how cool is that? Davide (Monique's Dad) was saying that each city in Portugal has a team, and there are "county" teams as well. It's just like in every part of life. And it's all year long. So soccer is a very big part of the culture where everyone, I'm guessing mostly males, play and play each year. The better they are, the higher they get. Then we also talked about the world cup, and how the teams are picked there. If you think of the USA like each state in a country, it works like that. So for me, it would be like California versus the rest of the nation. Talk about national pride for your country. It just sounds like this really cool thing, and I'll defently check it out next year. I'll of course root for good ole' USA, but I do have a portuguese soccer shirt...
I think that's long enough for all of you to get though. Hope everyone has/had an awesome weekend and I'll be checking back later. Till then, smile!

Tuesday using ecto
What made today great was that I didn't have my 9am morning class. My teacher called me yesterday to cancel. Kind of funny to hear your teachers voice on your cell phone. But, I guess it happens. Anyway, today was a simple day at school. Philosophy was great. We've started talking about the morality of abortion, so that's interesting. I've come up with my own ideas on the subject. If I get passionate about it, I'll add them at some point later.
So, tonight is the night before we are due to appear in the Argus Courier. I'm excited to see what the article looks like. It was cool to keep it a surprise from Monique's parents. I hope they are surprised and proud at the same time. I've download a new bloger software called ecto, and I'm using it now. I hope it works good. It seems to be doing fine at the moment. I just have to spend some time learning it so I can get the most out of it. But I know that won't be hard or take too long. This post was kind of a test for this software and to talk a little about my day. Okay everyone, have a great Wednesday and don't forget to smile!!!

10 Months
Now we get to yesterday (Saturday). In the morning, I woke up early to head to G&G Market to buy a flower for Monique. Every since we started going out, at every month since we've been going out, I have bought Monique a red carnation flower. Its something cool that was just our thing. But now everyone here knows. After getting back, I helped my parents set up for our yard sale. It was lots of crap for sale, and I'm glad we got most of it. I think our goal was to get ride of stuff, and if we got any money on the side, all the better. That sort of mentallity going into a yard sale will make it easier for you. I mean, if you really want to get some money for that item you have, sell it on eBay! There is no point trying to get money out of one item. People go to yard sales to buy stuff cheap. Okay, enough of that rant. But, yard sales are fun things to go to when you want to look at other people's junk. Haha, we use to do it all the time.
Okay, around 10 am, Monique stopped by to say hi and drop her car off before she went to badminton. There was an open gym at the high school, so she and her friend Torie went and had some fun. I walked down at around 11 to meet up with her. I ran into her old coach and we talked for a bit. She was telling me that Monique was really excited today and that she was telling everyone about our 10 months together. It made me smile. I watched Monique, Torie, and two other kids play badmitton untill there game was over. At that point, I walked over to Monique, giving her the flower I had gotten her. She smiled real big and gave me a kiss. We both then helped clean up the gym.
Within a few minutes, I was back home again. This time, Monique stayed over for a bit before she was heading home. We played on the computer and talked back and forth like we usually do. She stayed for about an hour then left. She had a big surprise waiting for me, but I couldn't know what it was. I had been guessing what it was for the last few days.
I waited at my house while Monique drove home and got ready. After a while, I couldn't take the wait, so I got off my butt to go do something. I decided to go out looking for the cologne that is Monique's favorite. I had a sample spray that I had used up before she had left, and now I was out of it. Not only was it her favorite scent, but I had gotten so use to it, it really felt like my scent. So, I went out looking for it. I hit 7 stores in Petaluma, but couldn't find it. With my misfurtune, I headed up to Rhonert Park early. I did however make a stop at Trader Joe's and got Monique some beautiful flowers. A bit pricier than normal, thought they were really worth it. I had plans to go to the malls in Santa Rosa to continue my search for my smell, but the bad traffic made me get off at Monique's freeway exit.
I know it couldn't be long untill Monique called me, so I headed to the place I knew I could relax and wait. I stopped at the park a block from Monique's house to lay down under the tree's and listen to a podcast. I was there for around 10 minutes before I got the call. Right away, I was off and knocking on her door.
I opened to find Monique giving me that huge smile that makes everything feel alright. She told me she was planning on surprising me with dinner, but she couldn't bear to have me away from her anymore. I thought it was real cute. She said she wanted to have everything all ready for when I arrived, but she knew should couldn't do it fast enough. I told her it's the thought that counts. We walked into the kitchen and started cooking right then.
I must say, Monique has some major cooking skills. She kept saying the whole time while things were cooking that she wasn't a good cook. I kept smiling at her and telling her its all about confidence. You can't expect to cook a perfect meal your first time. I don't expect that at all. I just loved the idea of us having a home cooked meal. Might sound funny to some people, but for us, that's more special than going out. Its like, everytime we get to eat with one another, we go out somewhere. Usually El Torito. So, I found this night so much more special. We picked up some sparkling sider at a local market, along with some angel food cake mix, and strawberries.
When everything was done and cooked, we sat down and ate. Like i've said before, and I'll say again, it was a really special night. Something about the whole day just kept me feeling so special. I hope that's what Monique's goal was, cause it sure worked out great. I really can't describe how great I feel to be there with her eating. I must say that it was even more special that she made me dinner. And boy, was it good! I'll put up some photos on flicker so everyone can check them out. Once again, it was just so special, and I enjoyed every second of it.
After dinner, we cleaned up and I started to make the cake. Once everything was shinny clean, we threw the cake in the oven, and went to the tv to watch a DVD we picked up. I choose Friday Night Lights. It was a good movie. Very football oriented, but it wasn't a sports movie of sorts. It was just a good drama. We sat and watched the movie sitting next to one another. Half way threw, we stopped to eat the cake. Angel food cake with chopped strawberries and a sugar glaze on top. Yummy! It was damn good! :-D
We'll after the movie was done, we just lied down on the couch and watched tv till I started to fall asleep at around 11:30. Monique woke me up and I headed home. I talked to her on the drive to keep me company. When I got home, I went to bed. And that was my day. Wow, what a great 10 month anniversary. Okay, this is getting long enough, so I'm going to cut off here. More about Sunday and Monday soon...
